How the calculator works
Choose your location, home details and the upgrades you are planning. The tool applies typical installed-cost ranges and typical bill-saving percentages for each upgrade, adds the incentives that are currently available where you live, and shows an estimated rebate total, yearly savings, payback time and a 15-year savings chart.
What help exists in the US in 2026?
The federal 25C efficiency credit and 25D clean energy credit ended for spending after 2025, and the 30C EV charger credit ended for equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026. This calculator therefore does not add federal credits to your total. What can still help are state and utility rebates (most often for heat pumps), local programs and financing offers. The DSIRE database lists incentives by state, and the IRS explains the ended credits.
Before you buy
- Get at least three written quotes.
- Ask your utility about rebates before you purchase, because some programs need approval first.
- Keep itemized invoices and equipment specifications.
Method and limits

Frequently asked questions
Are federal home energy tax credits still available in 2026?
No. The 25C and 25D credits ended for spending after 2025, and the 30C EV charger credit ended for equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026. State and utility rebates may still apply.
Can I still get a tax credit for solar panels?
The 25D residential clean energy credit ended for spending after 2025, so solar installed in 2026 no longer qualifies for it. Some states and utilities still offer incentives, so check DSIRE and your utility.

How accurate is this calculator?
It gives estimates only. Costs and savings use typical ranges, and your quote, home, climate and energy prices decide the real numbers. Always confirm incentives on the official program site.
